Three hundred wraps of diazepam tablets, fifty-seven packs of sex enhancement pills (black diamond), and 39 lumps of Indian hemp have been seized by the Nigeria Customs Service’s Kebbi State Command.
A total of over N126 million worth of duty-paid goods were also taken into custody, including 212 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 10,025 liters of premium motor spirit, 250 bales of used clothes, 150 rolls of expired powdered milk, 50 pieces of used tires, 78 rolls of Diclofenac sodium, 10 Jerry cans of vegetable oils, 20 cartons of foreign spaghetti, and 20 bags of foreign sugar.
Customs Area Controller Iheanacho Ernest Ojike told reporters during a press conference at the command center in Birnin Kebbi that the suspected smugglers of the commodities were apprehended in the border areas of Kebbi while the illegal substances were being transported to their intended locations.
He noted that the operation teams, intelligence unit, combined border patrol team, and cooperation with other sister agencies in the state made the seizures possible with their tenacious and valiant efforts.
The recovered diazepam tablets were given to NAFDAC, and the lumps of Indian hemp were given to the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
