The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 1, 2024, a public holiday in remembrance of Workers’ Day being observed this year.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister, attested to this.
The Federal Government’s spokesperson, Tunji-Ojo, reiterated the importance of excellence, efficiency, and equity in all areas of work.
Ojo reiterated the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to promoting an innovative, productive, and inclusive work environment.
“In accordance with this year’s theme, which centers on guaranteeing safety and health at work in a changing climate, I would like to declare that the Federal Government is unwavering in its determination to give the safety and well-being of every citizen top priority,” he added.
Let me reiterate the President’s dedication to creating a favorable work climate where each employee may prosper and make a significant contribution to the advancement of the country.
While appreciating the efforts of laborers, he advocated for proactive steps to lessen the negative effects of climate change by collaborating on the adoption of sustainable practices and laws that enhance worker well-being and the creation of a society founded on the values of honesty, hard work, and compassion.
