Why the Theatre Arts and Movies Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) is unable to provide assistance to certain ailing individuals in the film industry has been explained by Mr. Latin Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin. Mr. Latin is a well-known comic Yoruba Nollywood actor and the president of the association.
Mr. Latin revealed in a recent interview with 32FM in Ibadan that since he took office, TAMPAN has given more than N10 million to help actors who are struggling with health issues. However, he emphasized that actors who are seen asking for money through radio and television appeals are not active TAMPAN members.
Thusly, the affiliation can’t stretch out help to them.
Mr. Latin went on to say that the movie association only offers assistance to active members who are struggling with health issues.
“We have spent more than N10 million since I became the President of TAMPAN on actors’ health challenges,” he stated. The ones you see going on television or radio to ask for cash are not dynamic individuals from the affiliation. We always help everyone who is a member.
