Toyin has been in the headlines lately for all the wrong reasons, so it’s nice to see her in a lighthearted mood.
Toyin faced criticism over the weekend after applauding Kehinde Bankole for taking home the AMVCA’s Best Actress trophy. Many believed that the actress was content because Funke, her competitor, had not received any recognition.
She was also hauled after she wrote a letter to the award ceremony organizers declaring it to be the greatest and most authentic to date. Many people found her statement offensive and thought it was a jab at Funke.
Toyin and Funke rekindled their cinematic feud a week prior to the event when she revealed details of her upcoming film, a follow-up to the well-liked film Alakada, which is set to release in December. Several people were split over the revelation, with some pointing out that the actress was just copying Funke Akindele, her competitor, who had revealed a week earlier that she would be creating a sequel to her successful film Jenifa.
Subsequently, she made the cryptic statement that nobody is flawless and acknowledged that mistakes are made by everyone. Still, they get up, grow, learn, and continue to live.
In other news, Toyin Abraham issued a warning to her fervent admirers not to react badly to her trolls.
She begged and advised people who were making fan pages using her name to stop harassing or cursing people, letting them know that she would not be moved by any abuse, curse, or bullying.
