During a recent interview the Nigerian Tribune had with a veteran Nigerian singer, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, he finally spoke about the age-long rumour that he celebrated his 40th birthday with 40 newly-built houses.
The veteran musician said, “that fact is that I did not celebrate my 40th birthday with 40 houses but I invested so much in properties before I clocked 40.” He added, “the reason why I was very happy is because if you buy land or build a house today, in five years time, the value will become unimaginable. This is unlike buying a car whose value would depreciate. I want to encourage the younger generation to learn from this experience of mine.”
Speaking further, Ebenezer Obey said, “almighty God did not give me up to 40 properties but he blessed me with a few. I am still appreciative of that. Many mates of mine were frivolous with their first earning but my case was different because I listened to those who advised me then.”
