Dominican Republic head coach, Walter Benitez has named Real Madrid striker, Alejandro Martin Sapeg and Barcelona youngster Derek Cuevas in his 21-man squad for this month’s 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The North Americans will be making their maiden appearance in the competition which will be hosted by Argentina.
Benitez’s side will lock horns with the Flying Eagles at the Estadio Malvinas, Mendoza on Sunday, May 21.
It will be the country’s first-ever match in a FIFA competition.
They will also face Italy and five-time winners Brazil in the same group.
Meanwhile, Dominican Republic will face hosts Argentina in a friendly on Thursday, May 11.
They have another friendly lined up against Ecuador on Sunday, May 14.
