According to football trade specialist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will not be trying to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer.
Osimhen has been linked to several teams, including Arsenal, and it is widely expected that he will look to seek a transfer at the end of the current campaign.
However, Romano stated that one major barrier to the possible transfer would be the enormous financial requirements connected with Osimhen.
“I’ve received inquiries from fans regarding reports in Italy indicating that Arsenal may have cooled their interest in Victor Osimhen due to concerns about his potential costliness and the complexity of negotiations with Napoli,” he said in his daily briefing.
“Although Osimhen has consistently drawn interest, many teams are being cautious as they evaluate the parameters of the wage and commission, especially in light of the huge release clause.
“This cautious approach has led Arsenal to explore other options at the striker position, with Viktor Gyokeres remaining on their radar.”
“Additionally, Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea and reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly eyeing Osimhen.”
