In Kaduna State’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, 23 residents were killed by bandits. Alhassan Ibrahim Saulawa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Interim Local Government Chairman of Birnin Gwari LGA, affirmed this information.
Over twenty people were killed in an Anguwar Danko village raid by a big bunch of bandits in the Kakangi constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, according to Saulawa.
The RAWLOADED recalls the large-scale bandit attack on the hamlet on Wednesday, during which they shot intermittently and took many people hostage.
It has been reported that the bandits were at large within the hamlet, which is located in the same LGA around 10 kilometers from Dogon Dawa village.
Mallam Yahaya Musa Dan Salio affirmed the incident as well, claiming that five residents were injured and 23 residents perished.
He said that during the experience, several of the kidnapped people managed to escape into the bush.
He went on, “There were victims of the attack on Wednesday in my district; as of right now, the bandits have officially declared 23 people dead, 19 of them were said to have died in Anguwar Danko and 4 in Kanawa village. Thursday was the day of their funeral.
He further mentioned that during the incident, cows were taken from the village.
According to his statement, Salisu Isah, the Interim Chairman, visited the hamlet to offer support and sympathies to the injured and impacted locals.
He added that the exact number of people kidnapped was still unknown because a large number of them had taken cover in the jungle during the attack.
