Nollywood producer and actress Toyin Abraham has praised the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMPVCA) organizers for the success of this year’s ceremony.
According to Rawloaded, there have been backlash to the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards following the exclusion of Funke Akindele’s historic film “A Tribe Called Judah.”
Even though “A Tribe Called Judah” became the first Nigerian film to gross over N1 billion in theaters last December, it was unsuccessful for all five nominations.
Toyin Abraham, her opponent, called this version the “best and realest ever.”
Toyin Abraham, her adversary, called this version the “best and realest ever,” nevertheless.
“Best and realest AMVCA ever,” Abraham posted on her Instagram page. Fantastic work, @busola.tejumola. Indeed, we adore you, and you did great. Excellent work, @africamagic.
Not even two weeks have passed since Abraham reached out to her coworker Funke Akindele, claiming that rumors had turned them into “competitors and persona non grata.”
She noted that when they moved to Nollywood, they brought their rivalry from the Yoruba film industry with them to the Nigerian-English film industry.
But according to Abraham, experience and maturity have shown her that they may compete without being antagonistic.
