The FA Cup replays will no longer be a part of the competition beginning with the next season, and the first round actual matchups will only take place on weekends.
A new six-year deal between the FA and the Premier League aims to improve the competition by implementing “new and exclusive calendar windows.”
Replays will be removed as a result of these modifications starting with the first round proper, which will be caused by calendar modifications brought about by the expansion of UEFA competitions.
Replays were already eliminated starting with the sixth round.
The fixture window for the fourth round will be extended from Friday to Wednesday.
In addition, the championship game will take place on the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season, with no elite-level games planned for the day or night before.
