At the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, which is currently taking place, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been awarded the Group Stage Fair Play award.
The Flying Eagles were recognized by the competition’s Technical Study Group (TSG) for their professionalism, dedication, enthusiasm, and discipline during the group stage.
With six points from three games, Ladan Bosso’s team finished second in Group A.
The West Africans lost to the Cubs of Senegal 2-1 to begin the competition on a disappointing note.
However, the Flying Eagles rebounded and won their subsequent two matches against Egypt and Mozambique.
In the quarterfinal, the Hippos of Mozambique will take on the seven-time champions on Thursday at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.
