Teniola Apata, a well-known musician better known by her stage name Teni, has given an explanation for her decision to bow down to greet prominent businessman and socialite Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, or IBD Dende, on an aircraft.
Recall that Teni came under fire on Friday after sharing a video of herself on her X account showing her bowing down to welcome IBD Dende on an aircraft.
Most social media users chastised her for her affiliation with IBD Dende, even in spite of the smuggling allegations against him.
Teni responded by saying that she was not aware of any illicit conduct connected to IBD Dende on Sunday morning. She added that she had always held the businessman in high regard and that, in 2014, he had been polite to her.
Teni went on to say that she doesn’t support crime or unlawful activity.
She penned:
“IBD was so nice to me even before I broke up, so whenever I see him, it’s always love.” I met IBD in 2014. To be honest, I was unaware of any criminal activity connected to him. I PROTEST CRIMINALS, THEREFORE LET THE LAW DO WHAT IT MUST.”
