Take Critical action on fuel, naira heads – Akeredolu tells Buhari
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Friday said President Muhammadu Buhari must urgently take decisive action on the current energy and naira situation in the country.
Akeredolu lamented that the heads had foisted suffering on Nigerians.
The governor stated this in a statement entitled, “ The President must intermediate, Decisively, on the Crisis of Distribution of Petrol and Currency Notes, ” which he inked tête-à-tête.
According to him, some people are out to sabotage the frugality which the chairman must incontinently find a result to.
While condemning the move of the Central Bank Governor, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, on the new notes, Akeredolu, stressed that ordinary people were affected substantially by the policy.
He also maintained that the heads were targeted at harming the character of the ruling All Revolutionaries Congress, APC, and its campaigners ahead of the pates as he described the situation as a case of sabotage.
According to him “ The people of this country have been impelled to live under excruciating pains occasioned, substantially, by the simulated extremity in the petroleum sector. Ordinary people are the victims. Depositors can no longer pierce their moneybags, indeed to feed their families. Hunger isn’t the anticipated result of a financial policy.
“ While no reasonable person will contend with the decision of the CBN to discharge its statutory functions, the plight of the crushed must-have, still, be considered. At present, the maturity of Nigerians moan under the crushing weight of these heads. ”
