The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been cautioned by former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze not to force ambitious assistants on the team’s new head coach, Finidi George.
Emmanuel Amuneke and Daniel Amokachi, two former internationals, are apparently in the running for the role of assistant to Finidi.
The Super Eagles head coach position was also applied for by Amokachi and Amuneke.
Udeze, who is a part of the Super Eagles team that will compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by South Korea and Japan, stated that forcing assistants on Finidi will not work well.
Udeze stated to Brila FM, “I don’t want to see an ex-player who will come and give Finidi problems.”
“The NFF must not assign him assistants who will attempt to unseat him.”
“He ought to be allowed the freedom to bring his helpers instead.”
