The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has come under fire from veteran performer Charly Boy for how it handled crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky,’s arrest, arraignment, and incarceration.
Charly Boy stressed that Bobrisky is not the primary issue facing Nigeria in a post he published on social media, pleading with the commission to move on to more urgent matters.
For allegedly misusing the Naira, Bobrisky was detained on April 3 and brought before the court on April 5. The court ordered his remand in EFCC custody until April 9 for sentencing after he entered a guilty plea. Nonetheless, the judgment date has been delayed due to the Eid-Fitri vacation.
