Six members from the Islamic State of West African Province, or ISWAP, were slain by Nigerian Army troops participating in Operation Hadin Kai during a raid of a “notorious enclave” in Goniri, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counterinsurgency specialist in Lake Chad, revealed this in a post on his X account on Friday.
According to Makama, the achievement was documented on Thursday when the 81 Division Task Force Battalion forces, along with the Civilian Joint Task Force, raided the terrorists’ hideaway.
The security expert added that intelligence sources told him that the troops also successfully cleared Wulma Mashi and Kodow and destroyed structures of the terrorists.
He said, “The troops went further to clear Goniri and Kokotuma. Contact was made with the terrorists in a small market before Gorere market,” adding that they gundown the six terrorists and destroyed all the structures in the area.
