The federal government has declared that it is willing to work in productive partnership with pertinent parties to solve the root causes of multifaceted poverty and other socioeconomic issues.
Vice President Kashim Shettima made this statement on Tuesday in Abuja during the National Savings Group Conference 2024, which was sponsored by the World Bank, Care International, Plan International, Oxfam, Christian Aid, Action Aid Nigeria, Mercy Corps, and Catholic Relief Services, among others, and had as its theme, “Accelerating Financial and Economic Inclusion: The Pivotal Role of Savings Groups in Nigeria.”
In order for Nigeria to reach worldwide best practices, Shettima said preparations had been finalized to engage with local and international stakeholders on inclusion and draw on their experiences. Shettima was represented by Dr. Nurudeen Abubakar-Zauro, Technical Advisor to the President on Financial Inclusion.
