The plenary sessions of the Senate will resume on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, instead of Tuesday, April 23, 2024. The Senate Clerk, Chinedu Akubueze, sent out a confidential memo on Saturday informing the legislators of this modification.
This change is intended to make it easier to finish remodeling the Senate and House of Representatives’ main chambers so that they are prepared for future plenary sessions.
The following statement was sent to the senators: “Distinguished Senators, please be advised that the plenary session of the Senate has been postponed from Tuesday, April 17, 2024, to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
“This postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
