Rio Ferdinand, a legend of Manchester United, identified Bukayo Saka as Arsenal’s main threat after the Gunners’ thrilling 2-2 tie with Bayern Munich in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first-leg match.
In the final seconds of the Emirates Stadium encounter, Ferdinand expressed shock at Arsenal’s unsuccessful penalty claim and expressed shock at Saka’s powerful effort. Saka collided with Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer inside the box in question. The game ended in a draw, despite Arsenal’s cries for a penalty being ignored by the referees.
“How come that wasn’t provided? “I find it unbelievable that VAR hasn’t been used,” Ferdinand said to TNT Sports.
“It’s a penalty because Saka was running through there, making him the most dangerous player for Arsenal.
“I am in the stadium, I can’t believe it, I’m walking around in disbelief and I have got my arms on top of my head.”
