Renowned Nigerian musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate, has opted to cancel his 67th birthday celebration. The iconic Fuji artist, whose birthday falls on March 3rd, 2024, cited the prevailing economic challenges in the country as the reason for his decision.
In a statement shared on his Instagram account, Kwam1 conveyed that given the current state of affairs in Nigeria, he does not feel inclined to partake in festivities. He emphasized, “there is nothing much happening in our country Nigeria to warrant me celebrating at this point in time.”
However, he urged his loved ones to refrain from celebrating, eating, and drinking during his upcoming birthday. Instead, he requested that they use the occasion to assist someone in need closer to them.
In a recent performance at an event, Kwam1 also called upon President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the escalating economic challenges facing the nation. He emphasized the need for swift action to prevent the country from plunging further into economic turmoil.
