Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has said that Manchester City forward Jack Grealish can have few complaints over the challenge that left the England winger in a crumpled heap during their Champions League semi-final first leg clash at the Bernabéu.
Gaelish was on top of his game, ensuring Manchester City returned to England undefeated ahead of next week’s second leg at Etihad.
Grealish and the Spain defender were in a physical battle as Carvajal rough handled the Englishman as they were involved in several flashpoints.
Grealish was fortunate to avoid a serious injury in the first-half and confessed after the game that he found life difficult coming against Carvajal.
“It’s a semi-final, everyone is playing to the limit, every challenge is a war,” Carvajal told reporters when asked about their battle.
“But I don’t think we saw a City side that is superior to Madrid.
“We have a chance of going through.
“We go there with nothing to fear. We have to go there to win.”
