The body of former Chelsea and Newcastle United player has been found under the rubble of the building where he lived in Turkey, following the devastating earthquake in the country.
The former Black Stars of Ghana attacker, Christian Atsu who moved to Turkey to play for Hatayspor last year, was caught up in a 7.8 magnitude quake that rocked Turkey and Syria on the 6th of February, killing more than 43,000 people in both countries.
The 31-year-old Ghanaian had been misidentified and falsely reported as hospitalised last week.
Following his painful death, FIFA World Cup have taken to social media to share photo of the Christian Atsu while representing his home country, Ghana.
