President Muhammadu Buhari’s biographer has been advised to act wisely in the interest of peace to avoid any post-election crises in Nigeria. The President must take action to prevent them.
The author and personal biographer of President Buhari, Mr. Enuma Okoli, wrote the book “General Muhammad Buhari: In a press release that he made available to journalists in Awka, Anambra State, “Principled And Transparent” made the call.
Okoli, who described Buhari as a peacemaker, also recalled that Buhari took the time to talk to him about the sacrifices he made to keep Nigeria united during the civil war and urged him to take action to prevent the country from breaking up.
He claims that the anger of a portion of the nation over their dissatisfaction with the presidential election result that was announced on Wednesday morning forces him to offer this advice to the president.
He ordered the President to do the following, noting the country’s tension: Please immediately convene an urgent meeting of the stakeholders to halt the situation. This election has been rejected by many Nigerians. Please take action about it.
Okoli went on to say that there may be an escalation if the problem is not addressed: You had personally described to me how you and your coworkers fought to preserve Nigeria’s unity. Sir, a single election should not be the end of these years of suffering.
