President Joe Biden stated on Thursday that American black women are more susceptible than white women to pregnancy-related mortality.
He underlined Black Maternal Health Week’s importance of taking immediate action. Biden emphasized the dedication of his government to addressing the inequalities that the American black community faces.
He said that the administration is making a concerted effort to rectify the gaps in health that black women face.
According to Biden, “Black Maternal Health Week serves as an urgent call to action because Black women in America are three times more likely than White women to experience pregnancy-related problems.
We are using federal authorities to address the ongoing inequalities that Black communities face because they have a direct bearing on the welfare and health of Black moms.
