During an interview with Manchester United legend Gary Neville for Sky Bet’s Stick to Football, Schweinsteiger revealed this information.
The eight-time Bundesliga champion recalled how former director of football John Murtough told him that when he got back to Carrington, Mourinho had told him not to go into the locker room.
“John Murtough was at Carrington when I got there on my first day back. When I questioned him about why I was not permitted to enter the dressing room, he told me it was the coach’s order. No previous notice was given,” Schweinsteiger recalled.
Schweinsteiger expressed his profound disappointment, stressing his close emotional bond with Manchester United, calling the team his “second club” and complaining about the circumstances, considering his commitment on the field.
