Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has spoken out against the dangers of competition as she prepares to work with her former rival, Funke Akindele, on a project that will be released on Netflix before the end of 2024.
A few days ago, Kemi Filani announced that Toyin Abraham would be starring in a movie with Funke Akindele for the first time. The film, titled House of Ga’a, is a period piece about the life of the notorious Bashorun Ga’a and will be streamed on Netflix before the end of 2024.
Upon hearing this exciting news, which has excited their fans, Toyin took to her Instagram page to preach against competition. She posted multiple pictures of herself looking stylish in jeans on the platform and warned her followers to stay away from it.
Remember how Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele had been at odds for years after deciding to release their films on the same day, September 10, 2021?
That would be “Ghost and the Tout Too” in theaters and “Omo Ghetto the Saga” on Netflix. Days after the films’ debut, Iyabo Ojo stoked the rivalry by accusing Funke of hiring a well-known movie critic to destroy Toyin’s film.
But the two women put their disagreements aside when Funke was given a birthday celebration last year by Toyin Abraham, and Funke returned the favor.
Furthermore, Toyin had attended the opening of Funke Akindele’s film She Just Be Obeyed, dispelling any suspicions of rivalry between the box office queens.
Toyin Abraham banned an influencer a few weeks ago after they made a comparison between her and Funke Akindele.
