The controversial street rapper Portable Omolalomi is receiving blowback for his remarks against the tracks on Shallipopi’s new album. As a result, the popularity of Portable’s song “Tony Montana” has dropped from first to tenth place. This happened after Shallipopi’s “Shakespopi,” a nine-track CD that is their second studio album, was released.
All nine of Shallipopi’s album’s tracks surpass Portable, whose duet with British artist Skepta had been dominating the “Apple Music Top 100: Nigeria chart” for weeks.
The street rapper responds to this downturn by accusing his junior colleague of stream farming—an artificial technique meant to elevate one’s place on music charts.
Shallipopi was called a “stream farmer” by Portable, who claimed that his music and career were more important than Shallipopi’s fabricated efforts.
“Hey, young man, chill out. A true man is superior than another. It took you releasing an entire album before you could take down my song. Your song doesn’t even sound like a song; is that even considered music? Can you not exalt God? Are you unable to write significant music? “I am the landlord, and I promise to regain the top spot,” he yelled.
“There’s a hidden side to this guy; he’s secretly filled with envy,” said kene_chukwu85.
As rudylaise put it, “Portable is quietly envious.”
“You release songs, nobody pays attention; then when others drop theirs, you start lamenting,” said imlawrence_____.
Susan Hehis chastised: “You’re incredibly envious. When did you join the music business with the belief that you would never face competition? There, didn’t you meet other people? Constantly complaining about everything.”
According to officialhro____, portable makes no sense at all. He probably doesn’t know that he doesn’t own Tony Montana.”
“Just because your song isn’t playing in Lagos doesn’t mean people aren’t streaming it elsewhere,” wavegodd__ shot back. Fool, head over to Benin.”
