The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammad Ali has ordered the immediate arrest of a Police Inspector, Ebri, who allegedly shot dead a young man in Asaba.
CP Ali’s order was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
The police boss also directed the transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Asaba for thorough investigation.
While noting that the force is a disciplined organisation,CP Ali said the NPF will not condone such cruel action by any member of the Force.
He assured that the offending Officer will be subjected to internal disciplinary measures, including criminal prosecution.
CP Ali also expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of late Mr. Onyeka Ibe, who was reportedly shot dead today by the Police Inspector while on Stop and Search duty along Ugbolu-Illah Road, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State.
He also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and law abiding just as he assured them that justice will not just be done but will be seen to have been done.
