Michael Owen, a former striker for Liverpool, revealed that Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, is the best manager in the world tactically.
Owen’s evaluation came after Tuesday night’s thrilling 3-3 tie between Manchester City and Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal.
“I think he would teach you so much about the game,” Owen said of Guardiola to TNT Sports. “The game is something he studies. He is arguably the world’s best manager right now, if not ever, in terms of tactics.”
Owen went on, “Even simply spending a season in Pep Guardiola’s locker room would be an amazing experience. He is very remarkable.”
With three UEFA Champions League titles under his belt, Guardiola has a distinguished career.
