Abija real name is Tajudeen Oyewole but he is popularly known as Abijawara, this veteran actor attended local Authority primary school in Osogbo Osun state but he could not go beyond primary school. There was one construction company called Abijawara Bi Ekun construction in Osogbo. The company was owned by respectable old men and then the veteran actors and actresses wanted to do a 13 minutes play and the leader of that group thought of what they should call this veteran actor and that was how they suggested to call him the name of that construction Company.
They have 25 episodes in that play and he was asked to use the name Abijawara Bi Ekun. Later they simply call it Abija before that time he had been using some other stage names but they were not that popular until when he started using Abija, that was the only stage name that became popular, even up till date only a few know his real name because this stage name overshadowed his real name. The movie that shot him to Limelight was Opa Aje.
Abija has been married to only one woman and he is blessed with several kids. He met his wife while she was in secondary school in Igogo a town in Oyo State. It was around 1989, he said he fell in love with her immediately he saw her, he later told her that he loved her and will like to marry her. Abija said he was already a popular actor when he asked for his hands in marriage, so he was actually shocked when she turned him down.
She was of good character. Abija was around 32 years old when he proposed to his wife, he is 8 years older than his wife, his wife name is Ramoutaly, she is from Kwara state in Ilorin precisely. Abija is known to play the role of herbalist in movies. Abija’s father is an Ifa priest he was born into traditional practice as well as hunting. Abija has been able to the train all his children up to the University level. None of his children are into acting.
