After this season, Kylian Mbappé has announced that he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
The official announcement was made by the 25-year-old on Friday in a video that was shared on social media.
With this declaration, Real Madrid is one step closer to calling off their multi-year pursuit of the highly respected France international, who is among the best players in the world of football.
Sunday’s match between PSG and Toulouse at the Parc des Princes will mark Mbappé’s farewell to home games. May 15th, against Lyon in the French Cup final, is set as his last match for the team.
In a video sent to Instagram, he stated, “Hello everyone, this is Kylian. I had something to say to you. Since I’ve always promised to talk to you when the time is right, I wanted to let everyone know that this is my final season at Paris Saint-Germain.
“I won’t prolong, and in a few weeks the experience will come to an end. On Sunday, I’ll play my final match at the Parc des Princes.
“It’s a lot of emotions; over the years, I’ve had the opportunity and great honor of being a part of the biggest French club, one of the best in the world, which has allowed me to come here, to experience a high-pressure club for the first time, to grow as a player by naturally playing with some of the greatest champions in history, to meet a lot of people, and to grow as a man with all the glory and the mistakes I’ve made.”
