“Afrobeat artist Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, has been re-arrested by the Lagos State Police Command. The arrest is reportedly linked to the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
According to Punch, Primeboy was apprehended on Tuesday morning, March 12, while visiting the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba, accompanied by a witness named Ayobami Fisayo, also known as Spending.
Mohbad’s demise on September 12, at the age of 27, under controversial circumstances, led to outrage and protests from fans demanding a thorough police investigation and prosecution of those responsible.
In the wake of the accusations, singer Naira Marley, Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, Primeboy, and others were arrested and later released on bail.
Primeboy and Spending had reportedly been instructed to visit the SCID weekly since the investigation into Mohbad’s death began.
While Spending was released on the same day, Primeboy was detained after being handcuffed upon arrival at the SCID.
A source stated, ‘Both of them had gone to register their presence at SCID this morning as they have been asked to report every week.
But when they got there, Primeboy was immediately handcuffed and detained. They allowed only Spending to go after he had signed. Primeboy has been locked up as I speak.'”
