The Airtel telecom base station in Abaranje, Ikotun, Lagos, was reported got fire incident.
According to Airtel, the incident happened at the base station while workers were fixing a diesel tank leak.Airtel’s base station is overseen by telecom facilities management services provider Carville Integrated Ventures Limited.
“Carville, which oversees multiple base stations for Airtel Nigeria, has conveyed its profound sorrow over the recent fire catastrophe at Abaranje Base Station.
“Some members of the local community were injured as a result of the incident, which happened during maintenance operations on a leaking part of a diesel tank. They forced their way uninvited into the facility housing the base station during the maintenance work,” Airtel said in a statement on Tuesday.
The company has offered the victims healthcare support and extended its sympathies to them.
