Kano Pillars head coach Evans Ogenyi has restated his team’s desire to make a return to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Sai Masu Gida were knocked out of the Federation Cup by Rangers on Wednesday.
Ogenyi avowed that the failure of his team to progress in the competition wouldn’t derail their fight for promotion.
The experienced tactician further stressed that the team is pushing hard to qualify for the Nigeria National League Super 8 competition.
“We are on a mission to make a return to the NPFL,” Ogenyi stated.
“It’s sad we couldn’t make progress in the Federation Cup even though the players knew what was at stake.
“Winning promotion back to the NPFL is the mission. All the remaining fixtures in the NNL are like a final for us, and we can’t afford to make any mistakes.”
Kano Pillars are at the top of Northern Conference Group A with 12 points from five matches.
