Veteran Nollywood producer Anayo Modestus Onyek, well known by his stage name Kanayo Kanayo, has sent a crucial message to Nollywood filmmakers who are using YouTube, the streaming behemoth.
Kanayo Kanayo blasted his colleagues for destroying the film industry’s base by producing shoddy content just for the sake of generating revenue for the platform.
The seasoned filmmaker also made a point of criticizing those who lack sufficient filmmaking experience but yet launch lucrative YouTube channels before deserting their peers. According to him, they are destroying the industry’s core values.
Kemi Filani remembers that a few weeks prior, Kanayo Kanayo made an observation on a typical Nollywood scenario on his social media profile and offered some very essential advice with his colleagues.
The actor asked filmmakers to stop portraying rich men in Senegalese regalia or agbadas; instead, they should be seen wearing more relaxed attire.
He also observed that when women attempt to portray a typical nighttime or cooking period, they are fully clothed in bulky outfits.
The actor also discussed his nightly sacrifices in films, a topic that has since gained popularity on social media.
Kanayo Kanayo said that he is not a sacrificer and that Jesus is the only thing he is aware of in a little video that showed his conversation with Chude Jideonwo.
The seasoned performer, who is well-known in Nollywood, declared he would keep making the nightly sacrifices as long as money was deposited into his account.
