Musician Iyanya explains why Wizkid is despised in the music industry in response to a social media troll who disparaged his musical abilities.
Iyanya took offense in a recent social media conversation when a troll made a comparison between Wizkid’s career path and his own.
The user @Xperience_Snr reposted a @itzbasito message in which the latter congratulated Wizkid on surpassing expectations and setting a bar for the business.
“Wizkid’s sole transgression is exceeding the standard set for him and turning into the standard himself,” he posted on Twitter.
Reposting it, @Xperience_Snr pointed out that Wizkid’s career had fallen short of expectations, as both Iyanya and Samklef were anticipated to follow in their footsteps.
The same explanation for Drake’s high level of dislike. The second user said, “The entire entertainment industry didn’t think that little tiny white boy would make it that far; Wizkid was supposed to end up like Samklef and Iyanya.”
Iyanya, on the other hand, strongly objected to this comparison and sent back a cruel tweet, wishing the user would have the same fate as his father.
Iyanya cried, “You’re going to be just like your father.”
