Victor Boniface, a striker for the Super Eagles, was named to the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
The selections included Boniface along with five other Bayer Leverkusen players.
Alongside Serhou Guirassy of VFB Stuttgart and Harry Kane of Bayer Munich, the 23-year-old Nigerian was picked in the attacking lineup.
The striker’s adductor injury kept him out of the game for about three months.
In 20 Bundesliga games this season, the former Bodo & Glint standout has so far tallied 11 goals and nine assists.
Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, Alejandro Grimaldo, Jonathan Tah, and Jeremie Frimpong, his colleagues at Leverkusen, were all included on the shortlist.
Last summer, Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen from Union St Gilloise, a Belgian Pro League team.
