Tekno Miles, a Nigerian musician, has denied rumors that he was paid close to N1 billion for a collaboration with his colleague Kizz Daniel.
An supposed interview in which Tekno talked about his relationship with Kizz Daniel was published. He made it clear that he didn’t have a formal agreement and didn’t expect payment for his contribution to Kizz Daniel’s song “Buga”.
He did, however, acknowledge that he was paid 50% of the song’s earnings and expressed surprise when Kizz Daniel delivered him nearly a billion Naira following his Biga tour. Tekno also earned millions from his portion of the streaming income from “Buga.”
He praised Kizz Daniel as a remarkable person as he ended the alleged interview.
“Without a written contract in place, I gave to Kizz Daniel’s ‘Buga’ without anticipating anything in return. I was hesitant to post this at first, but I think appreciation is worthy of recognition.
Did you know that Kizz Daniel gives me half of the money he makes off the song? I was blown away when he shocked me with nearly a billion Naira after his ‘Buga’ tour.
However, his kindness didn’t end there. Each month, I get large amounts as my part of the money that ‘Buga’ makes from streaming… Kizz is a very special individual, I have to say that.”
Tekno refuted the claim, saying he never got paid N1 billion for a feature. He continued by asking how Kizz, who isn’t even worth a billion dollars, could be paid such a large amount.
“His finances aren’t really abundant. May lightning strike the person who faked that interview with your mother.”
A time back, during his conflict with Davido, Tekno quietly made fun of his coworker Dammy Krane.
Tekno posted a photo of himself having a good time on Instagram along with a mysterious remark that seemed to imply that only people who are struggling financially resort to social media to vent their frustrations.
Davido officially recognized Tekno’s significant contribution to his career in 2022 and expressed his unwavering thanks for giving him a hit song.
Daniel Regha, a well-known Twitter user, took offense at Tekno’s songwriting for Davido after learning about this, especially the popular song “IF.” Regha maintained that writing music just for Davido impedes his creative development and urged Davido to embrace penning his own lyrics from the heart, highlighting the importance of uniqueness.
