Rapper Kanye West launched a remix of Future and Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Like That,” targeting Drake and J. Cole, in an attempt to escalate the already month-long rap spat between the two artists.
Ye performed the opener live on “The Download,” a show hosted by his friend Justin Laboy, and gave fans a first peek of the upcoming song, “Like That (Remix)”.
A phrase from the recently released Future, K.dot (Kendrick Lamar’s previous alias), Metro Boomin song “Like That” appears in the opening stanza. is a reaction to the popular song “First Person Shooter” by Drake and J. Cole, which started a somewhat popular back-and-forth rap.
Kanye began his verse with the word “k-dot.” I agree with you. Kendrick Lamar was formerly known by the moniker K-dot.
Even though Ye didn’t play a major role in the show, Kanye raps, “Y’all so outta sight, outta mind / Can’t even think of a Drake line / Play J. Cole get the p***y dry / Play this s*** back 130 times,” in a longer version of the song that has surfaced online.
Rappers ranging from Rick Ross to Kendrick Lamar have been criticizing Drake over the past month, and in light of Kanye’s recent huge hit, it looks like Drake will be responding soon! 👀
