Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has noted that West Ham United could demand an eye-watering sum from clubs lining up to sign star midfielder Declan Rice this summer.
Reports in England have already said that Arsenal fear they may be priced out of a move for the England midfielder.
Borussia Dortmund’s young midfielder Jude Bellingham has reportedly agreed a contract worth around £120 million with Real Madrid.
For this reason, Jordan opined that West Ham can use that transfer to demand even more for Rice.
“No footballer is worth £120 million; forget about it; he [Bellingham] is not—he’s only worth £120 million because the market dictates that is the case,” said the talkSPORT pundit this morning.
“But if I were David Sullivan, I would want Declan Rice to go for more than Jude Bellingham.
“When I’ve got an opportunity to push back on people saying he [Rice] is not worth it, I’ll just point to him [Bellingham] over there and say, ‘This is the marketplace!’
