Popular Yoruba actor, Bolaji Amusan, popularly called Mr. Latin, said his most embarrassing period was when he went to his bank to withdraw N3,000 from his account.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with PREMIUM TIMES at his Elega Housing Estate residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, Mr. Latin said he only had N5, 000 in his account then.
He said at that time, he was broke and needed money to attend to an important issue, which made him resolve to withdraw the N3,000 from the balance of N5,000.
The comedian said he approached his Zenith Bank in Abeokuta and issued a cheque of N3,000 which he handed over to the cashier for withdrawal.
He recalled that at that stage, the cashier look at him again in a baffled manner, and curiously asked if he was not the famous Mr. Latin, to which he responded in the affirmative.
He said the cashier was shocked and burst into laughter, saying ‘Mr. Latin, na wa oo.’
He said he felt embarrassed, but had to ignore the cashier’s remark which attracted other bank staff and customers. He collected the money and left in a jiffy.
“The cashier was shocked seeing me to have come to withdraw N3,000. He was worried and asked if I am not the Mr. Latin, the comedian and I told him I am.
‘His question drew the attention of other bank staff and customers who were looking at me with dismay, But I ignored their amazement, collected my money and left.
“Honestly, that was one of my biggest embarrassing period’ the comedian said.
