Nigerian star Ayra Starr’s dream collaboration with her idol, Rihanna, may soon come to fruition, as Rihanna herself has expressed her interest in working with her.
Ayra Starr has openly voiced her admiration for Rihanna, whom she regards as her role model. However, it was at Rihanna’s recent Fenty event where the Barbadian singer, also a billionaire, first mentioned her desire to collaborate with the Nigerian diva.
The two were captured on video conversing on the black carpet. Rihanna revealed to Ayra Starr that her cousin in Barbados had introduced her music to her, following Ayra’s declaration that the Caribbean island was her “favorite place in the world.”
The mother of two exclaimed, “I’ve been hearing about Ayra Starr! My cousin was like, ‘Oh my God, I got this [song] from Ayra Starr.’ She was obsessed with you.”
Curiously, Rihanna inquired, “Do you have a song with Tems?”
Ayra Starr responded, “That’s my sister. We have songs together, but we haven’t released any yet. But soon…”
Rihanna then cheekily added, “You got an extra verse for me? Call me.”
