Actress and skit creator Maryam Apaokagi, also referred to as Taaooma, has said she expected trolls to criticize her because of her fame. She claimed that because she is well-liked, she has become immune to criticism.
A picture of her being carried by two colleagues went viral and garnered a lot of slander from the public, according to The Nation. She stated in a Punch interview that she was not shocked by the criticisms.
“I have been prepared for things like that ever since I realized that I am popular,” the woman remarked. It is quite common for people to converse. It makes sense that many people choose to vent their resentment and disappointments on celebrities. We should not be surprised by such things because we are in the public eye.
“I took that picture of my coworkers innocuously, but someone decided to instigate malicious intent against us,” the critic said. That kind of thing no longer surprises me. They have already stated harsher things.
Taaoomaa also maintained that cooperation was essential for creative success.
“Collaboration is essential for content creators,” the speaker stated. It took a while for my most recent partnership to come to fruition, but I’m happy that it did.
“As a creator, I think working together gets one far, and that’s the objective: to keep moving forward. It is beneficial to reach a wider audience outside of Africa.
When asked what impact working with American performers like Terry Crews and King Bachelor had on her career, she replied, “I have accomplished some of my own goals because I am a very driven individual who likes to cross things off my bucket list.
“This is something I have always looked forward to, and completing it will be a huge boost to my confidence and professional growth. Regarding potential outcomes, I suppose we will have to wait and see. There will be additional cooperation, but at this time I am unable to identify which. I’ll just keep aiming for a lot more.
