Duncan Mighty, a Nigerian artist, discusses his involvement in the Niger Delta crisis.
He related how, in his words, God often stepped in to save his life while he was a militant. Duncan Mighty recently said in an Accra, Ghana interview with 3Music, “I was involved in the Niger Delta issue.
God has frequently stepped in to help me throughout my life. I’m not from Lagos; I’m from Port Harcourt. My roots are in the South-South, the front lines of the conflict prior to the amnesty.
“I’ve taken an active position in a number of community initiatives targeted at protecting our people and resources, especially in the oil industry.
But nobody knew that I was the boy in the streams until celebrity came along.
He also said that he was a church drummer before switching to secular music.
“I was the inaugural drummer for Christ Embassy in Port Harcourt,” he said.
