Pascal Chibuike, a famous socialite better known as Cubana Chief Priest, is scheduled to be charged with Naira misuse by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
According to Channel Television, the businessman, Pascal Okechukwu, has been charged with three counts by the EFCC for allegedly violating the Central Bank Act of 2007 by spraying and tampering with naira during a social gathering.
The report states that Cubana Chief Priest will appear before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court, Lagos, on Wednesday, April 17.
For allegedly mutilating the Naira, the EFCC has filed a three-count complaint against him.
A copy of the accusation was obtained by Channels Television. Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), the prosecutor for the EFFC, submitted it on April 4th along with seven other attorneys who were representing the chairman of the Commission.
Okechukwu Pascal is charged in Count 1 with tampering with N500 bills issued by the CBN by spray-causing them for two hours on February 13, 2024, during a social gathering at the Eko Hotel. The Central Bank Act of 2007’s Section 21(1) declares this act to be unlawful.
According to Count 2, Okechukwu Pascal is accused of acting in a similar manner for two hours at a social gathering in Lagos in 2020 while using N500 bills that the CBN had issued. The Central Bank Act of 2007’s Section 21(1) is broken by this behavior.
In Count 3, Okechukwu Pascal is charged with reproducing this conduct in January 2024 at a different social gathering in Lagos, where N500 bills were once more sprayed.
Famous crossdresser Bobrisky was detained by the EFCC just two weeks ago on allegations of abusing Naira and mutilating cash. In court, Bobrisky acknowledged his guilt and asked for forgiveness, promising to use his influence to teach his fans how to responsibly spray money.
Unfortunately, the judge did not grant him a pardon. For abusing Naira, Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison last Monday without the prospect of a fine.
