The Federal Ministry of Works has announced a complete closure of both carriageways on the Third Mainland Bridge from noon on Wednesday to noon on Thursday.
Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, disclosed this in a statement to journalists on Monday. This closure is part of the ongoing rehabilitation efforts on the bridge, allowing the contractor to carry out essential repair works.
During this 24-hour period, the bridge will be inaccessible to traffic, and motorists are urged to seek alternative routes. Cooperation with deployed traffic management officials is encouraged to ensure smooth movement and minimize inconvenience.
The Lagos State Government also issued a notification regarding the bridge closure. Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, urged all road users to utilize the provided alternative routes and assured the presence of traffic management officials to mitigate disruptions.
The public’s patience and understanding are appreciated, with apologies for any inconvenience caused.
