Arsenal legend, Emmanuel Petit, has revealed that former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will turn down the chance to become Chelsea’s new manager because the former midfield maestro cannot speak fluent English.
Chelsea have started the search for their next permanent manager after sacking Graham Potter last Sunday.
The likes of Zidane, Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have all been linked with the Chelsea job.
But Petit believes Zidane, who has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, will reject the idea of moving to Chelsea.
“Zidane, he won’t come, definitely,” Petit told Stadium Astro. “You know why? Because he is not speaking English.
“I have known Zidane for ages and the way he manages players, he is very close to his players, and he always talks to his players.
“He wants communication to be a priority for him, it is very important for him. He doesn’t want someone to translate everything he has to say publicly. Simple.”
