Nottingham Forest midfielder, Morgan Gibbs- White has described his teammate, Taiwo Awoniyi as a “typical striker”.
Awoniyi bagged a brace in Forest’s 4-3 thrilling win against Leicester City at the City Ground on Monday.
The Nigeria international’s second goal was a beauty as he turned a defender before firing into the net.
The 25-year-old earned plaudits from the likes of Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher after the game.
Gibbs-White has now joined the former players in singing the praises of the striker.
“He’s what you’d call a typical striker,” he told the club’s official website.
“If you give him chances in front of goal, he’s going to score and that’s what he did.
“He had a bad injury and he’s worked so hard to come back so I’m absolutely delighted for him that he got his two goals which he deserved.”
Awoniyi has scored six goals in 24 league appearances for Steve Cooper’s side this season.
He joined the Reds from the Bundesliga club, Union Berlin last summer.
