EPL: Joe Cole, a former Chelsea player, has urged the club’s leadership, which is led by co-owner Todd Boehly, to appoint Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti as the Blues’ permanent manager when Frank Lampard leaves at the end of the season.
Boehly had sacked Graham Potter last Sunday and put Lampard to assume responsibility for Chelsea for the rest of the time briefly.
Cole stated on BT Sport that: Carlo Ancelotti is the only person in the world who is very active right now.
“He is the first name if I were the owner of a football club and there was one appointment you could make to keep a ship afloat and win you trophies,”
“I think it is very difficult for Jose [Mourinho] to come back to Chelsea at some point because he is gone to Tottenham because he is gone to Manchester United,” he added.
“Maybe there is a connection with the fans that is no longer there.”
