Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has admitted he expected Arsenal to “fall” against Newcastle.
The Gunners kept their faint title hopes alive with a 2-0 win at St James Park.
Martin Odegaard drilled in the first goal, before Gabriel Martinelli’s cross was turned into his own net by Fabian Schar.
Mikel Arteta’s men have now won back-to-back games after losing to Manchester City.
“Arsenal have gone up a lot in my estimation [on Sunday] as I didn’t expect that. I expected them to fall.
“Those Manchester City players will go to bed, not panicking, but it’s a little dig in the ribs. They will have wanted a cushion going into the Real Madrid game,” Neville said on Sky Sports.
